Jean Ferguson Mohr, R.N. of Lopatcong, NJ passed away December 3 after a short illness.

Mrs. Mohr was the daughter of the late Maurice and Sarah Ferguson. She graduated from Grover Cleveland H.S., Caldwell, NJ and Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing, Montclair, NJ and attended Jersey City State College. During her long career in nursing she held a variety of positions in medical/surgical care, blood banking and cancer therapy in Essex and Warren Counties. Included were head nurse positions in psychiatric and home health care.

She was a deacon in the Presbyterian Church and active in community service in Warren, Essex and Hunterdon Counties. Jean was a Board Member of the Warren County Domestic Abuse and Rape Crisis Center and a founding Board Member of Family Promise of Warren County. Mrs. Mohr was a guiding light for women recovering from addiction and alcoholism and served as Board President of Anderson House, a halfway house for women in recovery in White House Station, NJ. She also was a 50+ year participant in Harvard University's Nurse's Health Study and helped conduct market research studies for a major medical equipment manufacturer.

Jeanie and her husband of 55 years raised their family in Verona, NJ. She is survived by her husband Jon W. Mohr, daughter Virginia Mohr McGuire and her husband Phil of Scottsville, KY, daughter Julie Mohr Emin of Forks Twp., PA, and son Jon F. Mohr of Los Angeles, CA. "Grandma Jeanie" is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A calling hour will be held on Friday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm in the funeral home.
