Jean M. Smith, 92, of Bethlehem Twp. passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, in her home surrounded by family. Born on November 16, 1931 in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Latsch) Pletz.

She graduated from Allentown High School in 1949 and worked at Gannon's Gourmet at the Allentown Farmers' Market. She retired in 1998. She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church and the Daughters of Fatima. Jean enjoyed gardening and treasured her time with her family.

Jean is survived by her son, Robert E. Smith and wife, Kimberlie of Easton; daughter, Kimberley A. Piperato and husband, James of Clermont, FL; grandchildren, Avery and Chase Piperato; Madison and Conor Smith; sister, Patricia A. Nighan of Coplay.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Smith; brothers, John, Frank, George, Ronald, and Richard Pletz.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park, Linden Street, Bethlehem. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.)
