Obituary

Jean S. Travis, 93, of Palmer Township passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25th at Easton Hospital.

Jean was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mamie (ORiely) Surran. She and her husband Warren H. Travis celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on April 27th.

Jean was a graduate of Wilson Area High School class of 1942, where she served as the class secretary. After high school she went to work at Lauters Furniture Store of Easton, and was later the personal secretary to Mr. Charles Chipman. Following this, she was employed as a secretary at Harvel Plastics and was bookkeeper for Mr. Nick Puglieses Nicholas Court Apartments and Bar-Don Bowling Lanes. She was also a tour guide for East Coast Touring Company.

Jean was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ and was a member of the Lunch Bunch there. She also attended bible study for years with her best friend Peggy Imboden at Bethel Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband Warren, Jean is survived by her daughter Nancy T. Paul and husband Scott of Fleetwood, PA. She is preceded in death by her siblings Evelyn Santee, Dorothy Elliott, Mildred Nicholson, Loretta Cairoli, Charles Surran, and Harvey Surran.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6 pm until 8 pm and also Wednesday from 10:30 am until 11:30 am in the Morello Funeral Home Inc. 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA, followed by a prayer service at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine.
