Jeanne Ostfeld

Jean A. “Jeanne O’Brien” Ostfeld, 91, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 in the home of her daughter, Nancy with whom she resided surrounded by family. Born on May 27, 1935 in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret (Falvey) O’Brien.

Jeanne graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Bronx, NY. At a young age, Jeanne became a print model being featured in her school’s “On Campus” fashions. Jeanne also appeared as a model in a number of national publications such as Family Circle, TV Guide, and Simplicity Pattern Cataolgs. Her talents of dancing and singing led to her daily appearance on “Ted Steele Show” and “Teen Bandstand” where she would teach children a new dance step each day.

In 1957, she married the love of her life, Raymond G. Ostfeld. Together, they raised four children. During her time as a wife and mother, Jeanne was employed as a secretary for different businesses. She was a visionary who loved to decorate her home. During her retirement, Jeanne stayed active by taking classes at the local YMCA or enjoying lunch with her friends at Olive Garden.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Ray Ostfeld and his wife Gina of Morristown, TN; Nancy Poplawski of Easton, PA with whom she resided; Mary Salamone of Stroudsburg, PA; Thomas Ostfeld and his wife Lauren of Framingham, MA; grandchildren, William and his wife Mary, Christopher and his wife Rachel, Philip, Kimberly, Larissa and her husband Seth, Alexandra, Mia; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Raymond G. Ostfeld; sons-in-law, Joseph Poplawski and Thomas Salamone.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Laurelwood Cemetery, 901 Bryant Street, Stroudsburg, PA.
