Jervis S. Hettrick (Jerry), 82, of Palmer Township, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at home with his loving wife, Elizabeth A. Smith, by his side.
Born and raised in Orange, NJ and Keyport, NJ. Son of the late Jervis and Jessie Hettrick. He graduated from Keyport High School, NJ, class of 1957. Jerry proudly served in the National Guard, became a father to Jerry and Cheryl, and enjoyed fishing on his boat in the Keyport Marina. He was employed at Diebold Inc for 39 years. Jerry moved to Linden, NJ where he and Liz began their 34-year journey together. They later moved to Easton, PA, where he took up a retirement job at Wegmans for 7 ½ years. Jervis was a skilled wood worker, enjoyed cooking, gardening, hiking, backpacking, music, building his I-tunes playlist, and played senior softball in Union County.
Jerry is survived by his wife Elizabeth A. Smith; his son Jervis M. Hettrick and daughter-in-law Shawn, of Highlands, NJ; his daughter Cheryl Hettrick and son-in-law Bob Szeles, of Middletown, NJ; stepson Jason Leary; stepdaughter Amanda Tears Smith and fiancé Frank Cancelliere; sister Marjorie Schoppe and husband Daniel, of Leader, TX; 7 grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jervis is preceded in death by his brother John Hettrick.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Morello Funeral Home Inc. 3720 Nicholas St. Easton, PA 18045, at 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
