Obituary

Joanne Salsovic, 65, of Easton, PA passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015, in University of Pennsylvania Hospital, in Philadelphia. Joanne was born in Flushing, NY, a daughter to the late Louis and Marie (Pagliarello) Santucci. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Joanne was married to George Salsovic for 44 years. Joanne was a graduate of North Plainfield High School, NJ, class of 1967. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Teaching at Waynesburg University, Waynesburg, PA, graduating in the class of 1971. Joanne was a teacher for many years at North Plainfield High School, NJ, where she taught Reading and English as a Second Language (ESL). She also worked at Lehigh Valley Childcare for 3 years. Joanne enjoyed helping others. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, the Heart Association, and the food pantry at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church. Joanne loved to go to the shore and take day trips. She enjoyed shopping, antiques, and reading. Joanne used her gift of life best by loving her family. Joannes faith gave meaning to her life. Joanne was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, in Palmer Twp. Joanne is survived by her loving husband George Salsovic, of Forks Twp., a son: Michael Salsovic, of Stroudsburg; a daughter: Kristen Damon and her husband Jeffrey, of Oley, Pa; four grandchildren: Joseph, Benjamin, Julia, and Jacksen; a sister Patricia Bennewitz and her husband William, of Stroudsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). An additional calling hour will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 4049 Hartley Ave. Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Interment of cremated remains will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. Contributions in Joannes memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 961 Marcon Blvd., Suite 452, Allentown, PA 18109.
