John "Jack" T. Hughes, 97, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hospice unit.
He was born in Larksville, PA, a son of the late Eugene and Anna (Wright) Hughes.
Jack was married to the former May Jones until her passing in 2010. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA. He served in the US Navy during World War II, from 1943-1946. Jack was a Graphic Designer for M&M Mars for 37 years until retiring in 1989. He enjoyed golfing; bowling; and traveling with family, especially the yearly trip to Wildwood.
Jack was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church; VFW of Wilkes-Barre; and Apple Mountain Golf Club in Oxford, NJ.
Jack is survived by his daughters Sandra Hughes of Palmer Twp., Lori Anne McGuire and husband Mark of Palmer Twp.; grandchildren Brian Hughes and wife Chelsea of Easton, and Erin McGuire of Palmer Twp. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Diane Hughes; and four siblings.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Twp.
