John J. Kurpen, 78, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 in St. Lukes Hospice House.
John was born in Hartford Twp., a son of the late Henry Adam and Pauline Helen (Evanowski) Kurpen.
John was married to the former Irene Bruno. He was a Lab Director for Combustion Engineering of Connecticut for 30 years. He later moved to Easton and was employed by Foster Wheeler for many years before retiring in 2000. John enjoyed reading, long walks and spending time working around the house. He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by a daughter Debbie Nargi-Whyte; a sister Helen DelGrego; grandchildren Christin, John, Ralph, Patrick; great-grandchildren John, Patrick and Mia Mari, all of Connecticut. He is preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Kurpen.
A calling hour will be held on Friday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Twp., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in the church. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp).
