John A. Lukach, of Whitehall, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in St. Lukes Hospital, Bethlehem.
John was born on September 5th in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late John J. and Ann T. (Hasara) Lukach.
John attended Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote, PA, and graduated from Mahanoy Area High School, Mahanoy City, PA. He was a 1970 graduate of Penn state University, University Park with a Masters Degree in Secondary Education. Jack was a Social Studies Teacher for Parkland Area High School for 30 years. He also worked for Service Electric Cable, TV, Allentown as Chris Collins as a TV Anchor and radio Commentator. He also worked for the Morning Call Newspaper, Allentown, PA.
Jack was a devout Catholic belonging to St. John the Baptist Slovak Church, Allentown, where he served as lector and Eucharistic Minister.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife Adele (Capobianco) Lukach. They celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary on August 23, 2017. He was a loving brother to his sisters Kathleen Forgotch and husband Bernie, and Jeannie Mervine and husband Bill. He was also a loving uncle to his nephews Brendan and Jonathan, and his great-niece Bella Ann. He is also survived by 15 cousins. Jack will always be remembered for his many antics and jokes.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with an additional calling hour on Saturday from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
