John A. Race, 69, of Easton, PA passed away on Friday January 2, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born: John was born in Easton, PA a son of the late Markley Sr. and Mary Ferguson Race. Personal: John was a graduate of Easton High School the class of 1963 and played varsity baseball, a sport which he loved. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1971 when he was honorably discharged. John received three medals during the time he served the US Army: The good conduct medal, Marksmanship, and National defense service medal. John was married to the former Lorraine C. Finelli for 38 years. He worked at the former Mack Printing for many years as a pressman, and retired in 2008. Memberships: John was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, in Palmer Twp. He was a member of the Fleas Club , Republican Club, in Wilson Boro; and a volunteer at Saint Francis Friary. Survivors: In addition to his wife John is survived by his son: Michael Race, of Palmer Twp.; 2 grandchildren: Ethan and Rylee Race; a sister Fannie Schriner, of Rosemead, Ca; and a brother Markley Race Jr and his wife Janice, of Hobe Sound, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased in addition to his parents were two sisters, Doris Johnson and Margie Gomboaz. Services: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Easton, PA ( Palmer Twp.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church: 4049 Hartley Ave. Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
