John V. Squarcia, 92 of Palmer Twp., passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 in Manor Care Health Services, Palmer.

Born : He was born on January 2, 1921 in Easton, a son of the late Luciano and Chiara Spaziani Squarcia.

Personal: John was preceded in death by his wife, the former Frances Chisesi in 2007. John began his career as a laborer for the former Lehigh Foundry, now Victaulic, in Easton and later retired from the company after 46 years as Vice President. He was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1939. John proudly served our country in the US Navy during WWII, Pacific Theatre as a machinist mate 3rd class. He volunteered for many years as the coach for the Easton Tigers Teener Baseball League.

Memberships: John was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton. He was also a member of the Golden Age Club, Citizens Hose, FLEAS Club and Liberty Hose.

Survivors: John is survived by his son John L. and wife Mary Squarcia of Forks Twp., Marianne and husband Joseph Burd of Plainfield Twp., PA; Nancy Gazzana of Phillipsburg, NJ and grandchildren Theresa Ashness, Michael Squarcia, Matthew Roth, Nicole Rinaldo and 7 great grandchildren. A daughter Joanne Squarcia and brothers Anthony, Angelo, and Joseph preceded John in death.

Services: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Thursday morning from 8:15am until 9:15am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am in the church, 9th and Lehigh Streets in Easton. Interment will be in St. Anthonys Cemetery, Williams Twp.
