NAME: Joseph A. Alessi, 74 of Palmer Township passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. BORN: He was born on March 7, 1939 in Buffalo, NY; he was the son of the late Anthony S. and Marietta LaPaglia Alessi. PERSONAL: Joe was a loving, devoted father, husband, and grandfather who will be missed. He graduated from Riverside High School in Buffalo, NY and attended, Erie Community College, University of Buffalo, and Canisius College in Buffalo. He was employed by Union Carbide Linde Division in Tonawanda, NY and then moved to Easton, PA in 1967 to work for J. T. Baker Chemical Co. where he retired after 34 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. At the time of his death Joe served on the Board of Directors for Siliconsense in Nashua, NH, worked for JJ Wilbur Co in Amherst, NH, and served as Secretary of the Hillcrest Homeowners Association. He honorably served in the US Army. Joe served as a Eucharist Minister at Easton Hospital for St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. SURVIVORS: In addition to his wife of 52 years, the former Roberta Panza, he is survived by two sons, Eric S and his wife Ann Marie of Nazareth, PA, Mark D and his wife Cheryl of Palmer Township, PA; a sister Arleen Alessi of Clarence Center, NY and grandchildren Olivia, Antonio, and Dante. SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Tuesday morning from 9:00am until 10:00am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30am in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave. Palmer Twp. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Memorials: in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joes memory to St. Francis Friary,3918 Chipman Road, Easton, PA 18045 or to St. Jane France de Chantal School, 1900 Washington Blvd. Easton, PA 18042.
