Obituary

Name: Joseph A. Blasco, 80, of Easton, passed away on April 5th surrounded by his loving family, at Easton Hospital. Born: Joseph was born on June 4, 1930 in Easton, PA, son of the late Antonio and Rose Lutri Blasco. Personal: Joseph graduated from Easton High School, class of 1948. He and his wife the former Josephine Presto celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 16. He worked as a Sales Manager for Sears Roebuck Co, retiring in 1983. Joes passion in life was being a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Memberships: Joseph was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he volunteered as a church council member and usher. He was past president and treasurer of the Holy Name Society where he was named man of the year in 1996, a member of Knights of Columbus council #345, 4th degree Pope Pius XII Assembly, Circolo San Placido, Golden Age Society of St. Anthony, Citizens Hose Co., Chairman of the Festa Italiana for 17 years, and Deputy Constable of Elections for Palmer Twp., Northampton County. He also served as a teacher for Junior Achievement National program. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Rosemarie Lancaster and her husband Stephen, Carol Ann Rossi and her husband Joseph; sisters Jennie Dragotta, Rose Marie Callanan; a brother Anthony Blasco, all of Palmer Twp.; Grandchildren Joseph II, Jonathan and Andrew Rossi, Krista Hatten, Stephen and Jenna Lancaster; great-grandchildren Tyler and Chase Hatten. He is preceded in death by brothers and sisters Josephine Piro, Sam Blasco, Mary Ingraffea, Placido Blasco, and Lena Arcury. Services: Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and also Saturday from 9:15 am to 10:15 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton PA (Palmer Twp.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Streets, Easton. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Contributions in memory of Joe may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 900 Washington Street, Easton, PA 18042.
