Joseph W. Brancale, 86, formerly of Commack, NY, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in St. Lukes VNA Hospice House. Born: Joseph was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Louis and Julia (Maresca) Brancale. Personal: Joseph was married to the former Louise M. De Fatta, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage last November 18. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a truck driver for A&S Department Store, before retiring in 2009. Memberships: Joseph was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Dix Hills, NY, and a member of the Teamsters Long Island Local 804. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by daughters Nancy DeFuria and husband George of Phillipsburg, NJ, Carol Brancale of Forks Twp., PA; sisters Marie Ely of Las Vegas, NV, Rose Montanaro of Old Bridge, NJ; and a grandchild Deanna. He is preceded in death by a son Steven Brancale. Services: Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
