Obituary

Joseph Joey P. Castronuovo, 83, of Easton, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Gracedale Nursing Home, in Nazareth. Born: November 23, 1930 in Easton, PA, Joseph was the son of the late Louis and Josephine Castronuovo. Personal: Joseph was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1950, and later served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He and his wife, Theresa (Milia) Castronuovo, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on October 16, 2013. He worked several years as a Pattern Maker at J. Clem Kline and Son in Palmer Township and retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1994. He enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, Florida and Atlantic City with his family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening, landscaping and classic cars, but his true passion was woodworking. He hand crafted several pieces of fine furniture which he proudly displayed in his home. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan and enjoyed watching the success of local sports figures such as Mario Andretti, Larry Holmes and Bobby Weaver. He attended over seventy Easton - Phillipsburg football games, most of which were with his son, as part of an annual Thanksgiving tradition. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Memberships: Joseph was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, in Easton, the Holy Name Society, the Pattern Makers Union and the USMC. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Theresa, he is survived by a daughter, Jo-Marie Castronuovo, of Palmer Township; a son, Anthony J. Castronuovo, of Palmer Township; and several nieces and nephews. Services: Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM at Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & Lehigh Street, in Easton. Interment will be held in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
