Obituary

Name Joseph A. Jabour, 92 of Easton passed away Tuesday June 30, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenburg. Born: He was born on July 22, 1916 in Easton a son of the late John and Bargoot Rizk Jabour. Personal: Joseph and his wife the former Helen Smolsky celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past October. He was employed as a bar tender for Green Pond Country Club in Bethlehem Twp., Steves Pizza in Palmer Twp., Hotel Easton and the former Forrest House in Wilson Boro retiring in 1979. Joseph proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the European Theatre where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a graduate of Easton High School. Memberships: Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church in Easton. He also was a member of the Wilson Boro Republican Club. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his daughter Mary Judith Chaponis and husband Robert of Bethlehem, PA and grandchildren Jonathan and Stephen. Sisters Mazel Hanni, Helen Cully, Jeanette Shaheen and a brother Anthony Jabour preceded Joseph in death. Services: Calling hours will be held Thursday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm with Prayer of the Incense at 8:00pm and Friday morning from 8:15am until 9:15am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in the church, 4th and Ferry Streets in Easton. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
