Obituary

Name: Joseph P. Mazza, 93, of Bethlehem Twp. passed away Sunday January 23rd, 2011 in Blough Health Care Center in Bethlehem. Born: Mr. Mazza was born on June 30th, 1917 in Easton, PA a son of the late Nicholas and Rose Chillot Mazza. Personal: Joe was married on June 5th, 1938 to the love of his life the former Jeanette Antoinette Rossi who preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2007. He was employed for many years as a beer salesman for Ross Distributing and later Banko Beverage until he retired in 1979. He was a graduate of Easton High School Class of 1935. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed following Lafayette and Easton High School football and basketball after having played both sports in high school. Joes industrial league basketball teams won their league championships while he played for both Lehigh & Treadwell Engineering Companies. He thoroughly enjoyed expressing his opinions many times in the Express Times letters to the editor. Memberships: He was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church 9th & Lehigh Streets. in Easton, the Easton Mora Club, the Garabaldi Society, life member of the Fleas, Concordia Maennerchor, Teamsters local 830 and the Varsity E Club. Survivors: Joe is survived by his three loving daughters Helen Marie Shafer and her fianc Dale Loebsack of Bath, PA, Julia Ann Shipe and her husband Lyle of Germantown, MD, Carolyn Rose Creazzo and her husband Frank of Bangor, PA; his sister Mary Nelms of Palmer Twp., grandchildren; Kenneth Shafer, Daniel Shafer, David Daiello, Joseph Daiello, Russell Daiello Jr., John Young III, Jennifer Festa, Richael Ash and Frank Creazzo Jr.; Seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by a brother Lewis Mazza. Services: Memorial services will be held Thursday, from 8:15 am until 9:15 am in the Morello Funeral Home Inc, 3720 Nicholas St. Easton PA 18045, followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th and Lehigh Sts. in Easton. Interment of ashes will be in Easton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Contributions in memory of Joe may be made to St Anthonys Church 900 Washington St Easton, PA 18042 or to the Charity of your choice.
