Josephine Merlo, 97, formerly of Easton, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Holy Family Senior Living, Bethlehem. She was born in Pittston, PA on January 10, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Leonard and Giovanna "Jennie" (Montagna) Merlo. She attended Pittston High School and relocated to Easton with her family in 1944. Josephine worked at Strongwear Pants Company for 22 years. Following that she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Country Miss, Inc. and later was head of accounting for Hart Shafner until she retired in 1998.

Josephine was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she participated in the Golden Age Club and Sacred Heart Sodality as well as many other church activities and events. Josephine had a strong faith, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her sister in laws, Margret Merlo; Helga Merlo; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ignatius, Joseph, Sebastian and Charles Merlo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Lehigh Streets, Easton. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Williams Twp.
