William G. Bill Howey, Jr., 70, of Hellertown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in St. Lukes VNA Hospice House. Born: Bill was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late William G. Howey, Sr. and Helen E. Howey. Personal: Bill is survived by his wife the former Carmella Boscia, with whom he celebrated 34 years of marriage last June 15. He was appointed to the Easton Police Force on March 11, 1970 and appointed to the Juvenile Division on October 1, 1972. On May 2, 1988 he was appointed Lieutenant of Detectives until retirement in 1994 after 25 years of service. Later, Bill was employed part time by Morello Funeral Home in Easton and Palmer Twp. for 20 years as a funeral assistant. Memberships: Bill was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, FOP Washington Lodge #17 where he served as secretary for 23 years. He was a life time member of the Fleas club, and a member of Citizens Hose, both of Easton. Bill volunteered as usher for St. Anthonys Church at St. Marys Chapel for many years. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his sons David M. Howey and fiance Donna of Nazareth, John Jay Howey and wife Aimee of Wilson Boro; a daughter Michele Shelly Wagner and husband Tim of Bethlehem Twp.; a sister JoAnn Horton and husband John of Nazareth; a grandson Michael of Hellertown; a niece Julianne Kranich and a nephew Jonathon Horton. Services: Calling hours will be held on Saturday, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will be in St. Anthonys Cemetery, Williams Twp.
