Thomas Joseph Poynton Jr. 31, of Easton, Williams Twp., passed away Tuesday July 26, 2016 in Williams Twp., Easton, PA.

He was born on December 7, 1984, in Phillipsburg, NJ, a son of Thomas Joseph Poynton Sr. and Sharon Marie Poynton of Wilison Boro.

Thomas was a graduate of Wilson Area High School, class of 2003. Tom received his bachelors degree at Moravian college in 2007 and went on to earn his masters degree in education from East Stroudsburg University. He was employed at Palisades School District as a Business teacher and a varsity offensive line coach. He was a co-owner of In-Tents, LLC with lifelong friend, Edward Labatch. Tom always put his family first in all things, and a close second was his love of football. It was no doubt that he considered the Palisades teaching and coaching staffs part of his extended family. He was hardworking, dedicated, loyal and passionate about the people and things he loved. He absolutely adored his beautiful daughter, Anna, his dogs (Jack and Stella) and spending time at home with family and close friends.

Thomas attended church at Lehigh Valley Church of Christ, in Bethlehem.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 6 years : Sarah (Rush) Poynton, of Easton, a daughter Anna Poynton, of Easton, his parents, a sister Jenna Poynton, of Harrisburg, PA, paternal grandparent: Agnes Poynton, of Lady Lakes FL, maternal grandparents Jane and Donald Beohm , of Palmer Twp., Tim and Carol Piatt, of Sun City West, AZ.

Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and on Saturday morning from 9:00am to 10:00am in the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00am in the Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Easton, (Palmer Twp.), PA. Interment will be in Raubsville Cemetery, in Williams Twp.
