Julio A. Liberati, 93 of Bethlehem Twp., PA and formerly of West Pittston, passed away peacefully on Friday May 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 23, 1924 in West Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Guitta (Tossi) Liberati.
Julio worked at Hitchner Biscuit Company in West Pittston and then as a caddy for Fox Hill Country Club in Exeter for many years. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed the finer things in life: pasta, hot dogs, Italian beer and a good cannoli. Julio was a loyal New York Yankees and Penn State Nittany Lion Football fan. Lovingly known as Unkie, spending time with friends and family was one of the things Julio enjoyed most about life.
Julio was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Bethlehem.
Julio is survived by his nieces and nephews: Mariann, Elizabeth, and Joseph Liberati of Bethlehem Twp., Brian, Catherine and Hannah Judge of Edwardsville, and Robert and Elizabeth Bowen of West Pittston. He was preceded in death by brothers Anthony Tossi, Joseph P. Liberati, Jr.; sisters Lena Gregori, Elizabeth LaNunziata, Mary Scelba, Dora Liberati; and a nephew Joseph P. Liberati, III.
A calling hour will be held on Monday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA 18020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 am in the church. Interment will be private in West Pittston Cemetery, West Pittston, PA at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp).
