Lena Alfieri, 93, formerly of Bethlehem Township, passed away on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallastown, PA. Born on November 29th 1928, in Reitano, Sicily, she was a daughter of the late Virginia and Michele Nigrelli of Sicily.

Lena is preceded in death by the love of her life, Carlo Alfieri, who passed in February of 2002 after over 50 years of marriage and her brothers Luigi and Saverio.

Lena is survived by her brother Carmelo and sister Pena in Sicily, her daughter, Maria Walukonis of Wyomissing and grandson, Dr. Matthew Walukonis of Red Lion, PA. Lena also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and family that she cherished, loved and adored back home in Sicily and throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Lena and her late husband Carlo came to the United States in the 1950's and lived on Washington Street before calling Bayard Street their home for many, many years. Lena worked as a seamstress for most of her life and provided her family with all of the love and support she could give. She found peace in Padre Pio and always watched morning or noon mass and Mother Angelica on EWTN. Lena was a devout practicing Catholic and member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Easton.

Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc, 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Ninth and Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Easton, PA. Memorial contributions in Lena's name may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Ninth and Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA 18042.
