Leonina Angelina Zampol Fimiano, known to many as Leona, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, at Atria Senior Living. She was 100 years old.

Leona was born on March 25, 1925, in Mery-Sur-Seine, France, to Alessandro Zampol and Fanny Delcol. In 1945, she journeyed to the United States as a War Bride aboard the SS Argentina, where she reunited with her beloved husband, William "Bill" Fimiano. They settled in Easton, Pennsylvania, and shared 53 wonderful years of marriage until Bill's passing in 1996.

Leona and Bill embraced their new life together in the Northeast, taking trips to New York City, enjoying drives through the Pocono Mountains, and spending family vacations in Atlantic City. Bill was the love of Leona's life, and their enduring bond was admired by all who knew them.

Leona was preceded in death by her sons Robert Fimiano (wife Cherie) and Christian Fimiano (wife Charlotte), her daughter Pierette Cartini, and her brother Robert Zampol.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Diane Fimiano and by her cherished grandchildren: Christie Mendez and her husband Edwardo, and their children Isabella and Chase; Jeanine Cartini and her husband Luigi Morelli; and Pierre Louis Cartini and his wife Anna Claude, and their children Laurie and Leonie as well as her sister Jeanine Soumarmon.

After more than 75 years in Easton, Leona moved to Bethlehem in 2020, where she spent her final years in comfort and care.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Morello Funeral Home, Inc. 3720 Nicholas St. Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.).  A Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
