Loretta A. Granger, 92 of Bethlehem Township passed away on April 2, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospice. Loretta was born on March 29, 1932 at the family home on W. Front St. in Lansford PA. to Joseph and Anna (Gawlik). Before his death in 2007, she was married to Dr. Courtney L. Granger for over 30 years.  She has two stepdaughters – Lainey (Carrasco) and Dawn (Green).  Loretta was the youngest of 14 children, all who pre-deceased her – Stanley, Michael, Mitchell, Stella (Lake), Agnes (Sterusky), John, Mary, Father Ladislaus (Laddy)Baran, Adalbert, Joseph, Catherine (Smith Bortnick), Sister Mary Joselle, and Florence (Kalista Sverchek).

Loretta graduated from St. Anne's School in Lansford in 1949.   She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing with a BA in Anesthesiology in1952.  She later received a master's degree in Anesthesiology at the University of Miami.   With her husband, who was a Professor of Economics, she traveled extensively in Europe and in the US, including Alaska.

Loretta was a devout Catholic and a member or former member of St. Peter and Paul Parish (Lansford), St. Catherine of Sienna Parish (Allentown) and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (Bethlehem).

Loretta enjoyed all kinds of music and loved to play piano.  She loved all pets, especially dogs, doing crafts, putting puzzles together and Word Search puzzles in her later years while residing at Country Meadows (Bethlehem Campus).

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM  in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Summit Hill PA.
