Obituary

Louis F. Scrafano, 89 of Easton, PA passed away March 30, 2009 in Hospice House of the VNA of St. Lukes; Lower Saucon Twp. Born: December 13, 1919 in Easton, PA he was the son of the late Grace & Sabastiano Scrafano. The youngest of eleven siblings, Louis was preceded in death by his wife Antoinette Scrafano. Louis was employed full time as a meter reader for UGI and employed part time for Pantry Pride/Food Fair/ Laneco as a produce clerk until his retirement. He was a veteran of WWII and served as a combat engineer for the 36th Regiment of the U.S. Army. During WWII he participated in 5 invasions including: Sicily, France, Africa, Anzio, Salerno with 8 bronze battle stars. He was among the troops that liberated Auschwitz Concentration Camp. He was also a member of St. Janes de Chantel Catholic Church in Palmer Twp. Survivors: Louis is survived by his daughter Dr. Grace Kelley and her husband Dr. Kevin Kelley and his Son Louis Scrafano and his wife Reenie both of Easton, PA; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10 AM in St. Janes de Chantel Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave, Easton. Calling hours will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30AM in the funeral home. Interment will be held in St. Anthonys Cemetery; Williams Twp.
