Louise Helen Arietano

Louise H. Arietano, 84, of Easton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice in Bethlehem, Pa. Born on February 7, 1942, in New York, NY. She was the oldest child of the late Anthony and Lucy (Albano) Garritano. She graduated from St. Vincent Ferrer High School in New York City and worked as a secretary in Manhattan following her graduation. Later in life, she went on to study history and theology at both Middlesex County College, and Felician College in New Jersey.

Louise is predeceased by her husband, Nicholas J. Arietano—who passed away at the age of 47 in 1989—as well as her nephew, Michael A. Lanfranchi.

Louise provided a warm and loving home for her husband and two children while balancing work as a school secretary. She also enjoyed volunteering at her children’s schools and held the position of Recording Secretary for the PTA, using the shorthand and typing skills she perfected in high school.

Over the years, Louise’s free time was spent reading, going to shows, and enjoying country-western line dancing. She loved music and was a huge fan of both Elvis Presley and Johnny Mathis.

While Louise also lived in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, she was a true New Yorker and talked about her beloved New York Rangers as if they were a part of her family.

Louise’s greatest joy in life was her family and she cherished spending time with them. She was blessed not only with two children but two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church in Easton, and an R.C.I.A. instructor, assisting adults on their sacramental journey. She was also an active member of bible study at St. Paul’s Third Lutheran Church in Easton.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Christine Arietano Krahling and her husband, Rich; her son, Nicholas Arietano, Jr.; her granddaughter Courtney Mazzie and her husband, Matthew; her granddaughter Caitlyn Krahling and her boyfriend, Anthony Graziano; and her great-grandchildren, Mira and Asher. Louise also leaves behind a sister, Dolores Hanlon and her husband, Fred; and a brother, Carmine Garritano, and his wife, Kathy, along with six cousins and five nieces.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton (Palmer Twp.). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Arndt’s Lutheran Church, 1851 Arndt Rd, Easton, PA 18040. Interment will be private.
