She was an Easton High School graduate. She worked as a secretary for ten years at ANPA (American Newspaper Publishing Association). Margaret was the consummate devoted housewife and mother. She loved to cook and bake for her family, and she continued to bake her delicious coconut cake when she was ill. Everyone is going to miss her mounds of Christmas cookies, and especially her kiffels. Margaret was a devout Catholic, as prayer and faith was always important to her. She was an active member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, where she, and her husband, volunteered many years, filling baskets for the needy during the holidays and delivering the food. She and Jake volunteered weekly for twenty years with Meals on Wheels. Music played an important role in Margarets life. Blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, she was a member of her church choir for thirty years, often as a featured soloist. She took voice lessons to perfect her voice, and participated in numerous recitals. She also was a church cantor, and was honored to sing at many weddings and funerals. In her later years, Margaret (and Jake) became a fixture at the YMCA for morning exercise. She learned to swim in her sixties, and continued to do so daily, until she became too ill. They took numerous trips throughout the US with the AARP, and developed many lasting and cherished friendships. Their twenty years of winters spent in Florida, yielded many friendships as well.
