Margaret L. Perruso, 88 of Bethlehem Twp. passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 in Old Orchard Health Care Center.
Margaret was born in Easton, PA the daughter of the late Harvey and Mary Donohoe Diacont.
Margaret was a survivor, full of compassion and determination, who never allowed misfortune or health to cloud over her optimistic outlook on life. She was a woman who considered her family the most important gift that anyone could have. Margaret was raised in Wilson Borough with an array of friends that rode bikes, roller-skated, swam and played games at every opportunity. She was a life long supporter of Wilson High School as an engaged student, class of 1945 and active parent. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting her local senior center, solving word search puzzles and joining in on many activities. But most importantly she treasured visits from her family and friends. Margaret was employed by the Wilson Area School District for many years before retiring in 1996.
She was a member of St Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church 4049 Hartley Ave Easton, PA 18045. She was a member of AARP in Palmer Twp., the Ladies Auxiliary of Safety First Volunteer Fire Company, Wilson High School Varsity W Club where she received the Woman of the Year Award in 1997 and the Wilson High School Band Boosters.
Margaret is survived by sons Thomas and wife Jeanette Perruso of Bethlehem, Michael and wife Nancy of Bethlehem; Daughters Kathleen Young of Holland, PA, Theresa Perruso of Easton, PA, Trisha and husband Ryan Buskirk of Nazareth, PA; ten grandchildren, Thomas, Tara, Melissa, Amanda, Timothy, Dominique, Emily, Niklaus, Tyler, Madalyn and 4 great grandchildren, Olivia, Sloan, Sadie and Vance. A brother Harvey Diacont Jr. preceded Margaret in death.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6:00pm 8:00pm and also on Thursday from 9:00am 10:00am in Morello Funeral Home Inc. 3720 Nicholas St. (Palmer Twp.) Easton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30am in St Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave. Palmer Twp. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
