IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret M.
"Skeeter" Dauch
March 1, 1938 – November 9, 2024
Margaret M. "Skeeter" Dauch, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024 with her loving family at her side. Born in Homeville, Ohio, now known as Sandusky, on March 1st, 1938, she was the only child of the late Francis "Red" and Emma Bateman.
Skeeter lived in Collins, Ohio for most of her life and was dedicated to the raising of her children. She enjoyed simple country living and was known for her green thumb, impeccable lawn and flower gardens. She spent many winters baking her famous pies and crocheting beautiful afghans with her mom which they donated to local nursing homes and churches. One of Skeeter's great joys was rocking on her porch swing while enjoying a friendly visit with neighbors and a cold beer. She always looked forward to Tuesday movie matinees with friends and evenings playing cards. She will always be remembered for having an Ace up her sleeve and knowing when to play it. Skeeter enjoyed many years working in the office of Firelands Radiology, an affiliation of Fisher Titus, in Norwalk. She was a social member of the Vermillion VFW #7576 and the Norwalk Eagles Club #711. She also took great pride in supporting the yearly Bostater family reunions up until she moved to Pennsylvania to live with her daughter.
Skeeter was preceded in death by her partner of 40 years Gerald "Jerry" Lykins of Collins, Ohio. She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her children: Cheryl A. DeGregorio (Vincent) of Easton, PA, Gale A. Dauch Jr. (Patty) of Collins, Gregory A. Dauch of Vermillion and Gary A. Dauch (Lisa) of Norwalk; fourteen grandchildren; at last count, twenty great-grandchildren; and her most cherished lifelong friend of 60 years, Jean Cook of Norwalk, OH.
The family would like to express a special thank you for the exceptional care Skeeter received during her last months from the entire staff at Arden Courts of Old Orchard and Serenity Hospice in Bethlehem Township, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton (Palmer twp.). Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com.
