IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margarite Salvina
Cassar
June 8, 1951 – December 10, 2024
Margarite Salvina Cassar, 73, formerly of Palmer Township, lost her 14-year battle with Alzheimer's disease peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on December 10, 2024. Born on June 8, 1951 in Tarxien, Malta, Margarite was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Falzon) Cassar. Margarite and family immigrated to New York City in 1952. Margarite was raised in Howard Beach, New York. She graduated from The High School of Fashion Industries in 1969 and went on to take classes at Baruch College.
After marrying, she moved to New Jersey and ultimately Palmer, Pennsylvania, where she raised her children. Margarite continued her studies after her children were grown, receiving her Associate's degree in Office Administration from Northampton Community College in 1999. While Margarite held jobs as legal and medical administrative assistants, her most cherished calling was her time as a stay-at-home mother, raising her three children. Although already afflicted with Alzheimer's disease when her grandchildren were born, the joy they brought her was apparent. Margarite was proud of her work as a Eucharistic Minister and lector for Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. She also enjoyed dancing, sewing, and various other crafts. Above all Margarite will be remembered for her dedication to her family, whom she loved so dearly.
Margarite is survived by her son, Salvatore Paszynsky, New York, NY; daughters, Kari (Paszynsky) Bocassi and her husband Michael of Massapequa Park, NY; Marlene (Paszynsky) Drayer and her husband Scott of Midlothian, VA; the father of her children, Michael Paszynsky of Midlothian, VA; brothers, Salvatore Cassar and his wife, Lori, of Phillipsburg, NJ; Edwin Cassar and his wife, Eileen, of Island Tress, NY; Charles Cassar and his wife, Cheryl, of Gwynedd Valley, PA; John Cassar and his wife, Lynn, of North Merrick, NY; sister, Irene Calamia and her husband, James, of Tom's River, NJ; and grandchildren Paige Drayer, Sloan Bocassi, Vincent Bocassi, and Posie Drayer.
