Maria Toscano Milia of Easton, PA passed away on October 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 26, 1931, in Pietraperzia, Sicily, Italy to Pasquale and Catina Toscano. Maria married Liborio Milia of Pietraperzia and immigrated to the US in 1955, settling in Easton. Maria and Liborio raised three children and were married for 42 years until Liborios passing in 1996.
Maria worked for several years as a seamstress at Strongwear Apparel. Later, due to ongoing health concerns, she placed her focus on her wellness and raising her family. She was admired for her exceptional cooking of mouthwatering, full course Italian meals that always left everyone astounded and well fed. She also delightfully enjoyed baking and preparing her famous cannolis and Italian cookies to share with family and friends. She loved sewing and crocheting beautiful clothing and other items as well. These interests, along with her bright smile and sense of style and fashion, lit up entire rooms.
As well as belonging to St. Anthony of Padua Church in Easton, Maria was a long time member of the Churchs Mother Cabrini Society.
She is predeceased by her brothers Vincenzo Toscano, Giuseppe Toscano, Filippo Toscano, Salvatore Toscano, and sister Lena Toscano Costa. She is survived by her three children: Philip Milia and his wife Diane of Catasauqua, PA, Joseph Milia and Teresa of Wind Gap, PA, and Josephine Galloway and her husband Timothy of Palmer Township, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Philip Milia, Lauren Fornal, Joseph Milia, Danille DeVries, and James Parrish; and great grandchildren: Max, Vivian, Ryan, Michael, Patrick, Matthew, and Gracelyn. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to her home caregiver Bivi, and the caregivers and staff at Holy Family Manor for the loving and tender care they helped to provide for Maria.
