Maria Padula, 88, of Easton, PA passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born on February 2, 1936 in Parthali, Sparta, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Sarando and Panayiota Merecoulias. Maria married her husband, James Padula, at 20 years old and the two shared 23 years of marriage together before his passing 1979.

Maria worked as a packer for Country Miss after retiring she started Cookie Express with her daughters. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and doting grandmother. Maria was happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends. Her home was the place where everyone was welcome.

Maria is survived by her daughters, Salvatrice "Sammie" Simpson and her husband, Jack of Forks Twp.; Ann Padula of Forks Twp.; Rose Caka and her husband, Scott of Forks Twp.; sister Tasia Alexakou and her husband, Pete of Parthali, Sparta, Greece; grandchildren Courtney Caka and her fiancé Nic Sutcliffe and Ashley Caka and her boyfriend Avery Anderson, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Maria was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Pete.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Ninth and Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine. 3051 Green Pond Road Easton, PA 18045.
