Marie F. Abert, 86, of Bethlehem Twp., PA passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in her home surrounded by family. Born on October 17, 1939 in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Zatazelo) Bolez.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1957 and earned her Associate’s Degree in fashion management from Northampton Community College. She was employed as an executive secretary for Bethlehem Steel for several years. She then became a stay-at-home Mom which she enjoyed immensely. Once her children had grown, she drove a school van for IU 20.
Marie was very active, belonging to the Red Hat Society, Women of St. Jane’s and Colonial Tea Women. She enjoyed volunteering at the St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church and sang in the choir. She also donated her time at St. Jane’s School and Notre Dame. Marie loved doing crafts and painting. Her most treasured time was spent with her family.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, William D. Abert; son, David W. Abert; daughters, Susan Altemose and her husband, Charlie, Carol Lawler and her husband, Sean; grandchildren, Nicole Henry and her husband, Matt, Alicia Lawler, Benjamin Abert, Samantha Rae Abert, Faith McLaughlin and her husband, Devin; great-grandchildren, Esmeralda, Maribelle, and Curry Robert.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brothers, Fran and John Bolez.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA 19045. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 547 North Krocks Road, Allentown, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.)
