Marina Bedoya, the beloved matriarch of her family and a woman of extraordinary strength, love, and devotion, passed away in Easton, Pennsylvania, on Monday, May 25th, 2026, after 78 years of a life defined by grace, resilience, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

Born in San Vicente, Colombia, Marina carried within her the spirit of her homeland—a place where family is at the heart of everything, where faith sustains through hardship, and where love is expressed in both grand gestures and quiet acts of care. She shared a profound and enduring bond with her soulmate, Rigoberto Bedoya. Together, they built a life grounded in an unshakable devotion to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In 1976, Rigoberto set out for Easton, Pennsylvania, in pursuit of the American dream. As a testament to her extraordinary courage, Marina remained in Colombia to raise their six children until the family was joyfully reunited in 1978. In 1981, their family was blessed with their seventh wonder, Jessica.

Marina was the heart and anchor of her family—the steady presence around whom generations gathered. Her generosity knew no bounds: her home was always open, her kitchen always warm, and her love always abundant. She helped raise many of her grandchildren, instilling in them the same values of resilience, and deep familial love that defined her own life.

Marina worked hard for her family in every way possible. She balanced homelife with her professional life as a seamstress at Lisa Marie Sportswear, a textile factory worker at McGinley Mills and a hospital environmental specialist for St. Luke’s Hospital Network. Marina also found great joy in traveling the world, embracing each journey as an opportunity to create lasting memories. Whether near or far, what mattered most to Marina was sharing the simple joy of togetherness that she cherished so deeply.

Marina now reunites in heaven with her beloved husband, Rigoberto. She is survived by her seven children: Rigo Jr., Dora P. (Echeverri), Wilson, Janet, Alba Nury (Carollo), Ivan, and Jessica (Yung); her brothers, Luis Alfredo Jaramillo and Bernardo Sánchez; and her nephew, Luis Alfredo Jaramillo Jr., whom she lovingly embraced as the eighth child of the Bedoya clan. Her legacy lives on through her 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Above all, Marina will be remembered for the way she loved—generously, fiercely, and without condition. Her life was a testament to the enduring strength of family, the resilience of the Colombian spirit, and the quiet beauty of a life devoted entirely to others.
