Martin (Marty) Purcell, 78, died suddenly in his home on August 13, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Cairo) Purcell and the much loved and cherished father of Michael and Lisa Purcell, Stephen, Martin, and John Purcell. He was the happy Grandpa to Tiffany, Samantha, and Nicholas, and Great Grandpa to Elianah. Beloved brother of Timothy and the late James Purcell and sisters in law Rose, Alice, and the late Mary Cairo. Beloved uncle of Patti, Jay, and Maureen and families. His many friends will miss his great sense of humor. Born in Shamokin, PA, a son of the late James and Margaret (McIntyre) Purcell, Sr., Marty was raised in Jersey City, NJ. He served in the US Army, graduated from Seton Hall University, and worked at Western Electric and AT&T for forty years. Marty was a dedicated volunteer at the Atlantic Federal Credit Union. He also volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church in Palmer Twp. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Easton (Palmer Twp.), PA 18045.
