Mary H. Najjar, 92 (affectionately known as Lottie to her loved ones), of Phillipsburg, NJ, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Abington Manor, surrounded by the family who adored her. Born on May 10, 1933, in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Thomas) Saad.

Mary lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and boundless love. A devoted Christian and lifelong member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, she carried her faith not only in prayer but in every act of kindness she offered. Without Mary’s generosity and selflessness, the trajectory of many lives would be far different.

Mary graduated from Easton Catholic High School and went on to earn her Nursing degree from Easton Hospital School of Nursing. Mary dedicated 42 years of her life as an Operating Room Nurse at Warren Hospital, serving others with a heart that found purpose in caring for those in need. Regardless of all that time spent in the operating room, Lottie herself could never stand getting a needle! Mary was the true embodiment of a nurse.

To her family, Mary was the center of gravity: a devoted mother, godmother, Sitto (grandmother), great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and cared for. She was the bosom to rest on in a long church sermon, Santa on Christmas Day, and the jacket carrier during mall trips for all her littles. She always showed up – of course for the big moments, the highs, the lowest lows, and all the seemingly insignificant in-betweens that meant everything to those in her orbit.

In her quiet moments, she enjoyed reading, crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles – simple joys that reflected her thoughtful and patient nature. Mary loved trips to Atlantic City and San Francisco with her main road dog, BFF, and daughter, Rosa Najiar. In her final years, Mary was blessed with extraordinary care from her beloved daughter, her “Princess” who ensured that her mother’s days were filled with love. Their bond was a testament to the devotion Mary had poured into her family throughout her life.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Rosa Najjar; great-nephews Samuel, Anthony, and Zachary Budway; and surrogate grandchildren Sleiman and Karen Zogheib, Cosette and James Posko, Holly and Corey Kosek; great-grandchildren Joseph, Salima, Amira, Adriana, Alessia, Isaac, and Marcus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Najjar; her son, Nicholas Najjar; her sisters, Marion Coccia and Sadie Saad; and her brother, Samuel Saad. And also, her husband’s dog, Hakeem, which stood for “Doctor” in Arabic – but an unlikely inspiration to her nursing career.

Mary’s legacy is one of generosity, faith, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a family shaped by her example and a community touched by her kindness. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in every life she touched.

A special thank you to the caregivers at Abington Manor who, along with Rosa’s decade of care, made sure Lottie’s final years were filled with comfort and care.
