Obituary

Name: Mary J. Stokes, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5th at her home in Bethlehem, PA. She was a long time resident of the Easton area. Born: Mary was born on March 14, 1923, in Brooklyn, NY, where she also met her husband Edward and married on June 12, 1943. She and Edward moved to Staten Island to raise their family before moving to Easton in 1969. She was a daughter of the late Vincent and Caroline Mirra Contreras. Memberships: Mary was always an active member in the Easton community, a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Easton. She has served as the President of the Daughters of Fatima, participated on bowling leagues and bingo and a local artist. Of recent years, Mary had been an active member of the Country Meadows Senior Living Community in Bethlehem, a member of AARP, and St. Anthonys Golden Age. Survivors: Mary loved her family and is survived by her husband of 67 years, Edward F. Stokes; her son and his wife, George E. and Lovoice Stokes of New Jersey; her daughter Debra Jean Stokes of Easton; her son-in-law Angelo DiBiagio; grandchildren Tina Lippincott and her husband Terry, Angelo DiBiagio, Jr. and his wife Lisa, John R. DiBiagio, Christa M. Wolski and her husband Leonard, Georgette Macrina and her husband Giovanni, Christopher McCormick and Matthew McCormick. Additionally Mary was blessed to share her love with her great-grandchildren Tori and TJ Lippincott, Angelo and Giovanni DiBiagio, Dylan Elizabeth Wolski, Luke and Isabella Macrina, and Hope McCormick. She is preceded in death by a daughter Carol Ann DiBiagio. Services: Calling hours will be held on Friday from 8:30am until 10:30am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00am at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
