Melvene Ann Thatcher, 62, of West Easton passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Muhlenberg Hospital. Born on September 2, 1962 in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. Haffner, Sr.  and Melvene A. (Thatcher) Haffner.

She graduated from Easton Area High School  in 1980. She was the manager for Fashion Bug and later a buyer for Super Value. She retired in 2012 as the Outpatient Coordinator for Warren Hospital. She was an avid collector of Longenberger Baskets and Coca Cola memorabilia. She was a loving wife and mother who adored her family. She was a dedicated volunteer at her church, Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, attending auctions and flea markets. Her favorite color, red, was displayed throughout her home.

Melvene is survived by her loving husband, Woodrow Wilson Thatcher III; daughters, Chelsea Thatcher and her fiancé, Jonathen Grube of Wind Gap, PA; Talia Thatcher and her husband, Jonathan Dorak of Wind Gap, PA; step-daughter, Nicole Deemer of Bangor, PA; sister, Darlene Cosenza and her husband, Joe of Gouldsboro, PA; brother, Stephen J. Haffner and his wife, Dana of Emmaus, PA; grandchildren, Gracie Jo, Eleanor, and Braylen.

In addition to her parents, Melvene was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph J. Haffner, Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Farmersville Road, Bethlehem, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Melvene's name to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
