Merton O. Koch, 91, of Bethlehem Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, in St. Lukes VNA Hospice House. Merton was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Merton C. and Anna Mae (Beidelman) Koch. Merton was married to the former Betty Jane Green, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on April 19. He attended Rider and Lafayette Colleges. He served as Active Duty US Naval Pilot from 1943-1949; active reserve from 1951-1977; and retired in 1977 US Navy Commander. Merton was a sales manager for WEEX radio station from 1950-1957; a salesman for Star Paper in Washington, NJ; a sales manager for Keystone Packaging Inc., from 1957-1982, and lastly AEP Industries from 1982-1989. Merton attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bethlehem Twp., Easton Lodge 152, F.&A.M., Tall Cedars Easton Forest #35, B.P.O.E. Lodge #121, He was also a member of the Optimist Club, where he was a Charter Member and Past President, and Chamber of Commerce, where he was chairman of various committees. In addition to his wife, Merton is survived by his daughters Connie and husband Norman Schute of Bethlehem, Cheryl and husband Martin Zawarski of Bethlehem Twp., Lorraine and husband Greg Wolf of Long Valley, NJ; grandchildren Joe and Christina Piperato, Zachary Zawarski, Liza Bertolucci, Corrin and Collin Wolf; and a great-grandchild Marcus A. Zawarski. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Masonic Services being held at 8:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
