Michael "Mike" Armao, 54, of Bethlehem Twp., passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 in St. Luke's Hospital – Anderson Campus, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Santo Stefano di Camastra, Italy. Mike was a son of the late Filippo Armao and Gemma (Todaro) Armao and the beloved husband of Sharon Jean Festa. Sharon and Mike spent 30 years of their lives together and enjoyed 22 years of marriage.
Mike was a high school soccer standout and part of the renowned 1983 Freedom High School team. This team was declared co-state champs when they tied Trinity High School in a 1-1 draw through 16 overtimes. Mike's goal with 4:35 left gave the Patriots their only score in the game.
Professionally, Mike worked as a Senior Loan Officer at Quaint Oak Bank Company in Allentown for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and the Holy Cross Society.
In addition to his wife Sharon, Mike is also survived by his twin daughters, Mikaela Armao and Jacqueline Armao both of Bethlehem Twp.; his brother Anthony Armao (Danielle Bevilacqua) of Bethlehem Twp; and many cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in Nisky Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mike's memory may be made to his daughters' college fund as they begin their final two years at Westchester University. Contributions should be made directly to Sharon Armao and sent c/o Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA 18045.
