Michael Chillot, Jr., 93, of Palmer Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Easton Campus.
Born on December 20, 1932, in Easton, PA, Michael was the son of the late Nettie (Ross) and Michael Chillot, Sr.
Michael graduated from Easton High School, class of 1951, and attended the former Churchman Business School in Easton. He was a Deputy Clerk in the Prothonotary Office of Northampton County, retiring after 20 years of service.
Michael was a man of true faith. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a member of the Order of Franciscan Seculars of St. Francis Fraternity for 53 years. Michael played the organ for many years at the former St. Bernard and St. Anthony of Padua churches and St. Francis Retreat House. He was a life member of the Safety First Volunteer Fire Company and the former West Easton Athletic Association.
Michael loved to dance and spend time attending community concerts. He enjoyed taking walks, especially at Hugh Moore Park and the Palmer Park Mall, where he made many friends.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his loving partner, Rosemary Ackerman, whom he dearly missed.
Surviving are Rosemary’s children, Michelle West and her husband Joseph of Phillipsburg; Denise Ibrahim and her husband Samer of Wilson Borough; and Shawn Ackerman and his partner Melissa of Palmer Township; her grandchildren, Amina, Madeline and her husband Kevin, Corinne, Sameera, and Ava; and a great-grandson, Syncere.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp. Michael’s services have been entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, 3720 Nicholas St., Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com
