Michael F. Erdie, 86, of Easton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was born in Nazareth, PA on August 28, 1931 to the late Wendell and Mary (Searock) Erdie.

Michael worked at Penn Dixie Cement Corp. in Nazareth, PA, prior to joining the US Army in 1951 during which time he served in the Korean War. After being honorable discharged from the Army in 1954, Michael worked as a truck mechanic at North Penn Transfer. On February 13, 1954, Michael married the love of his life, the former Martha DiRaimondo. Michael and Martha celebrated 64 years of marriage in 2018. Their nickname as a couple was M&M's which probably explains why that was Michael's favorite candy. He loved hunting, fishing and bowling as well as being a loyal Phillies fan. He also loved animals and got much joy out of spending time with the family cat, Baby. Michael was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Easton.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by daughters Linda Myers and husband Charles, Cynthia Erdie; a brother Joseph Erdie and wife Julie; a sister Maryann Schwartz and husband Jerry; a granddaughter Carol Vazquez; grandsons Michael Myers and fiancée Penny, Charles Myers and wife Shannon; a great-granddaughter Ava Myers; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Monday July 16, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp), followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
