Muriel Ruth Opitz, 94, of Easton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Moravian Hall Square.

She was born in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Charlotte (Gearhart) Southam.

Muriel was married to Paul Opitz, until his passing in 1998. She was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1944. She was a secretary and office supervisor for Easton Suburban Water Authority, until retiring in 1998.

Muriel was a member of Bethel Memorial Baptist Church in Palmer Twp., where she served as Financial secretary for over 20 years.

Muriel is survived by her sons Barry L. Opitz and wife Suzanne of Bethlehem Twp., Bruce R. Opitz and wife Cindy of Nazareth, Brian P. Opitz and wife Amy of Metuchen, NJ; grandchildren Kelly, Jeffrey, Mathew, Jeremy, Rachel, Ari, Noam; great-grandchildren Dustin, Kiersten, Logan, and Ian. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a sister Grace Huff; her brothers Gordon, William, Robert, and Joseph Southam.

Graveside Services will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp).
