Naum Kukuy

Naum Kukuy, 84, of Tobyhanna, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Born on April 10, 1942 in Yakutsk, Siberia, Russia, he was the son of the late David Benjamin and Olga Kukuy.

While living in Russia, he earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and served in the Soviet military. Naum was also employed as a refrigeration engineer for the railroad in Russia. After moving to New York, he was employed by two different livery services, Company Car and TWR, before his retirement in 2012.

Naum is survived by his loving wife Larisa (Anikina), with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 24. He is also survived by his son, Dmitry Kukuy and his wife, Kristina; his brother, Sam Kukuy and his wife, Olga; and two grandchildren.
