Obituary

NAME: Nicholetta Marie "Nikki" Bucci passed through this life to be with her God on Thursday, December 29, 2011. BORN: She was born on September 19, 1945, to Saveria "Sadie" (nee LaGanga) and Anthony LaValva in Easton, Pennsylvania. PERSONAL: She attended Wolfe Elementary School and Easton Area High School, graduating in 1963, where she was a cheerleader for three years. After graduation, Nikki was employed by Selected Risk Insurance Company in Easton, until her marriage in April 1966. Nikki was the consummate hostess, who liked nothing better than a house full of family and friends. She prided herself on friendships that spanned long decades and a tight-knit family of relatives far and near. She was a humble yet accomplished cook who could whip up just about anything from almost nothing. She had her father's "wandering feet" and loved to travel; she shared a special trip to Italy with her husband recently. Her great joy was the company of her grandchildren; she was an enthusiastic "nani" who delighted in the time she spent with them. SURVIVORS: Nikki is survived by Alfred "Fred" Bucci, her husband of 46 years and partner through all in life; her two children; daughter Giancarla Churchman and husband Bruce of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, son Jeffrey of Cortlandt Manor, New York, grandchildren Joey, Jimmy, Jeffrey and Jessica Churchman, her brother Frank and his wife, Vivien of Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania, sister-in-law Grace of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and brother-in-law Nelson and his wife Joan, of Easton, Pennsylvania as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Calling hours for Nikki will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 3:00 8:00 p.m. in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp., Pennsylvania. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 9th and Lehigh Streets in Easton, Pennsylvania with interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp., Pennsylvania. CONTRIBUTIONS: Those who wish can make a memorial contribution to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, MIlford, Delaware 19963 or St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 900 Washington Streets, Easton, Pennsylvania 18042.
