Norman Alan Brewster, lovingly known by all as "Al", 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in his home.
Al was born in East Orange, New Jersey, to the late Franklin Elwood and Thelma Pearl (Hall) Brewster. He grew up in Bluefield, West Virginia and in 1955, moved to Washington, New Jersey. Al retired from Myers Power Shipping Company in Bethlehem, PA where he worked as a Shipping Manager. He was a past member of the U.S. Junior Chamber.
Al was married to his "bride", Brenda (Williams), with whom he would have celebrated 36 wonderful years of marriage this October. Al was an avid football fan and when he was not rooting for his Nittany Lions team, he was cheering for whatever team his son, Tim, was coaching for. Al was immensely proud of his children and even more so of his grandchildren, nephews, and great nieces. He loved to attend their sporting events every time he had the chance. He was a very patriotic man and an extreme history buff. Some of his favorite times were spent visiting historic landmarks and parks, and he loved to read anything pertaining to the revolutionary war, civil war, and industrial history. Al also loved to bowl in his younger days.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by his sons Timothy J. Brewster and wife Cathleen of North Carolina, Harold A. "Bub" Brewster of Nazareth; daughter Michelle Kolbe and husband Keith; daughter-in-law Bernadette Brewster of Connecticut; a sister Janice Shanberger and husband Don of Virginia; a brother Bill Brewster of Jew Jersey; grandsons Kyle A. and wife Jenn, Eric A. and wife Haley, Elliot B., Stephen and wife Nicole, Clinton, Nolan, and Bryce; great-grandchildren Mason A., Sophia, and Ainsley, sister-in-law Beth Grandinetti and husband Ron of Easton; nephews Mark Grandinetti and wife Margie, and Craig of Easton; great-nieces Grace and Ella Grandinetti; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by a loving son, Michael Alan Brewster; and a brother Harold O. Brewster.
Al will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and will live on in the hearts and memories of all who loved him. The amazing stories he told about his childhood and past will be treasured.
