Name: Norman Earl Simmons, 85 of Easton, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 23rd. Born: Norman was born on May 16, 1926, in Easton, to the late Willis and Flora Everitt Simmons. Personal: Norman was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Frances Mae Bentz Simmons in 1998. He was retired from Ecolaire Condenser in West Easton, PA and Shrutys Pub, in Wilson Borough. Norman was a talented carpenter who enjoyed making toys for his grandson, but also made small scale models of historical buildings in and around Easton. There are several on display, including ones at the George Taylor House, the National Canal Museum and the Seipsville Hotel to name a few. He would just look at the buildings from various angles and then go home and reproduce them in exacting detail using wood scraps and common household items. Memberships: He was a lifetime member of the Fleas Club of Easton, and a lifelong blood donor having earned his 6 gallon donor pin prior to his heart attack in 1991. Survivors: Norman is survived by his daughters Mary Lou Schratt and her husband Joseph of Cape Coral, FL, Norma Jean Simmons and her husband Gary Crouse of Ocean City, MD, Lu Ann Brandle and her husband Carl of Lower Nazareth, PA; grandson Sean Brandle of Bushkill Twp., and step-grandson Joseph Schratt, Jr. and his wife Michelle, step-great-grandson Joseph Schratt III of Canonsburg, PA, step-grandson Sean Crouse and his wife Kris, step-great-grandson Connor Crouse of Binghamton, NY, brother Edward Simmons of Nazareth, and many nieces and nephews. A brother Willis Simmons of Lorain Ohio, and three sisters, Laura Simmons Muretta, Pauline Simmons Kisselbach, and Augusta Simmons Frace, all of Easton died earlier. Services: Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). A funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Interment will be at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
