Patricia L. Bechtel

Mrs. Patricia L. (Potenti) Bechtel, 90, formerly of Easton, PA passed away peacefully at Country Meadows of Bethlehem on January 16, 2026.

Pat was born April 1, 1935, in Newark, NJ; the daughter of the late John Potenti and the late Lydia (Kohn) Potenti. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Bechtel; her brother, Jack Potenti; her nephew John Potenti; her sister Joan (Potenti) Hutchison; and her companion of many years, Dick Kreitz.

Those left to cherish her memory are her niece, Patricia Kobylus and husband Leonard of Salisbury, NC; her nephew, James Hutchison and wife Teresa of South River, NJ; her niece Kim Emison and husband David of Stafford, VA; cousin Jack Paul and family of Bethlehem, PA; great nieces: Kristen Abernathy (Zach), Kourtney Garcia (Ron), Kelsey Ausmus (John), Stacey DiPasquale (Joe), and Caitlin Emison; great nephews: David Emison and Nicholas Emison; great-great nephews: Justin, Brandon, Aiden, Christian, Diego, Gabriel, A.J., Johnnie, Shawn, and Leonodas; great-great nieces Hallie, Delaney, and Mary; many cousins and friends.

Pat was a 1953 graduate of Easton Area High School. Following graduation she attended Nursing School. For nearly 40 years, Pat was a faithful employee at Metropolitan Edison Company, as the Easton Business Office Supervisor, until her retirement in December 1994. She was a member of the Women’s Board of Easton Hospital where she volunteered at the gift shop for over 20 years. She also served as a member of URW, “You Are Welcome,” for the city of Easton.

Widowed after less than three years of marriage, Pat was a beloved aunt who was generously devoted to her entire family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue in the hearts of the lives she touched.

Pat was a longtime parishioner at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Easton, PA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 10:45 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St. Jane Frances Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA 18045. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Northampton Memorial Shrine in Palmer Township. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.).
