Peter E. DaRoja, Sr., 89, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Holy Family Manor – Bethlehem surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Montclair, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Angelo Peter and Ellen (Whiting) DaRoja.

Peter was married to Vivian (Vincent) DaRoja with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage with on February 3, 2018.  He was a graduate of Verona High School, class of 1948. Peter was a Truck Driver for Hermann's Forwarding in North Brunswick, NJ and also Coca Cola in Hightstown, NJ until 1991. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1953.

Peter was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in West Orange, New Jersey.

In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by nine children, Peter DaRoja, Jr. and wife Kim of Conway, SC, Carol DaRoja of Allentown, PA , Susan DaRoja of Allentown, PA, Robert DaRoja and wife Elizabeth of West Windsor, NJ, Thomas DaRoja of Chattanooga, TN, Mary Zielinski and husband Michael of Palmer Twp., Michael DaRoja and wife Kimberly of Nazareth, Margaret Freedman and husband Randall of Palmer Twp., and Anne Chletsos and husband Gregory of Palmer Twp., twenty-four grandchildren, Charles DaRoja, Maryanne DaRoja, Katherine Spillman and husband Jason, Joseph DaRoja, Rebecca DaRoja, Arthur Rielley, III, Christopher Rielley, Shawn Rielley, Frank Pennetta and wife Tara, Bernadette Lovas and husband Bill, Anthony Pennetta and wife Erika, Michael Pennetta, Matthew DaRoja and wife Alyssa, Valerie DaRoja, Veronica DaRoja, Jessica Zielinski, Tyler Zielinski, Alexandra DaRoja, Nathan DaRoja, Angela Freedman, Juliana Freedman, Joseph Chletsos, Nicolas Chletsos, and Brandan Chletsos;  nine great-grandchildren, Katelin, Serenity, Ryan, Christian, Gianna, Nicholas, Victoria, Billy, and Mila. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Evelyn Holmsteadt.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 20 ^th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas St., Palmer Twp., PA.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday September 21 ^st at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Williams Twp.
