Obituary

Peter L. Minotti, Sr., 94, of Easton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. Born July 21, 1931, in Easton, he was the son of the late Louis S. Minotti, Sr. and Lena (Tito) Minotti, former owners of Hilltop Pizzeria in South Side Easton.

Peter was the devoted husband to Rosalyn (Powell) Minotti of Jacksonville, North Carolina. They were married in 1954 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and resided in South Side Easton before moving along the Delaware River in Forks Township, and celebrated 71 years of marriage in July 2025.

He was a graduate of Easton Area High School, Class of 1949, and joined the United States Marine Corps that same year during the Korean War. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina, where he met his wife.

After his military service, Peter returned to Easton and became a lifelong entrepreneur. He owned and operated Pete's Garage and later Pete's Transmissions in South Side Easton. He also owned Yellow Cab Taxi and was a partner in the Three Colts Bar, both in Easton. He worked as a licensed real estate broker and founded Mark Realty. In the 1970s, he purchased the former Easton Trolley Car Barn in Wilson Borough, where he spent many hours working on foreign and vintage automobiles. As a teenager, he worked with his uncle at Pat's Brake Service in Wilson Borough.

Peter held several United States patents, including a Pipe Repair Kit Apparatus and Method (1982); Torque Transfer Device for Wrench Applications (1983); P-Tee Golf Tee (1983); Vehicle Distress Signal (1989); and an Illuminated Collar (1990). He also pursued patents for a golf putter and a crib safety device known as the Space Angel. He taught at the Northampton County Vocational School and enjoyed wood carving, cooking, winemaking, and mechanical design.

Peter, his family and friends, spent countless Sunday afternoons on the river enjoying his wife's Italian cooking and drinking wine. Friday nights "with the guys" was one of his weekly highlights. He was a life-long member of The Pomfret Club in Easton, and a member of Northampton County Country Club.

In addition to his wife, Rosalyn, Peter is survived by his children: Debra Minotti Lush, wife of David Coleman of Allentown; Lauren M. Minotti, wife of Thomas J. Garrity of Allentown; Stephanie M. Minotti of Pittston; and Peter L. Minotti, Jr. of Allentown. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas Minotti; Nicole (Minotti) Glenn, wife of Brian; Kylie (Lush) Malcarney, wife of Joseph; Kasey (Lush) Megna, wife of Jaycob; and Michael S. Lush, Jr; and two step-grandchildren Max and Molly Coleman. He leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Brison and Brinlee Glenn; Evie, Ro, and Cub Megna; and Joseph Malcarney, Jr., as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Peter was predeceased by two children, Diane Marie Minotti (1955), Robert L. Minotti (2012), and brothers, Anthony J. Minotti (1974) and Louis S. Minotti, Jr. (2020).

He will be remembered for his ingenuity, work ethic, and deep love for his family.
